Michelle Dexter, Ph.D. is the Director of Training at Behavioral Associates Los Angeles. She received her master’s in physiology and biophysics at USC and received a master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA-Accredited program at California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles.
Dr. Dexter’s clinical experience included working with graduate and undergraduate students at UCLA, USC, and Loyola Marymount University. She also worked in inpatient and outpatient settings at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where she was extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Dexter previously worked as a coordinator of group programs at USC and adjunct faculty at Alliant International University.
Dr. Dexter has experience skillfully implementing a variety of empirically-supported treatments to a broad range of clients. She specializes in utilizing ACT, CBT, CBASP, CPT, DBT, and Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders (UP) in both individual and group settings. Her clinical areas of expertise include working with individuals who present with trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders.
